Donald Trump

Donald Trump's Plan is to put a wall in between "Mexico" and "USA". He wants to put a wall in between those two countries because he is trying to stop the people from crossing the American Mexican Border. I strongly DISAGREE because he used to do really bad things back in time. Tell me if you disagree or agree with his plan.

The History of Hans Lipperhsey

The Telescope Was First Patented in 1608

Dutch eyeglass maker Hans Lippershey (or Lipperhey) is widely credited as the first person to patent a telescope in 1608.

His device, called a killer  ("looker"), was, according to Hans, able to magnify an image up to three times.

The Birthday Party

I feel shy and worried because I have never been to a big birthday party before (I actually have).

I wonder If this was a birthday like nobody has had before.

I wish I had a party like this.

I hope we get to bounce on the bouncy castle after eating Athena’s birthday cake.

End of the Term!!!

Today we went to a Marae. A Marae is where you celebrate like Birthdays, Weddings and other kinds of fun things. To me, I think Maori is apart of my culture because I am Maori too. In the morning, we started to get ready. When all of us went on the bus, we had to stay on the bu for 40 mins till we get there.We went past Wigram mostly. When we got there, the people was doing a huge welcoming for us. They told us to go inside the Marae and then they told us to sit down because they where about to begin a play. It was about Maui finding his mother. The second one was Maui finding his father.  Maui is the son of Taranga, the wife of Makeatutara. He has a miraculous birth – his mother threw her premature infant into the sea wrapped in a tress of hair from her topknot (tikitiki) – hence Māui is known as Māui-tikitiki-a-Taranga. That was the story of Maui. How Maui found his Father and the Magic Jawbone is the story of how Maui wonders where his mother goes each evening. One night he follows her and finds she visits his father, and the family is reunited. Maui then meets his grandfather, and secures his jawbone, which has magical properties. Hope you had a great holiday!!!

Today in statistics,we have been learning about pictographs. They are graphs that use pictures to show information. We had a sheet we had to work hard on. I found it hard because I do not really know that much about pictographs.

Today we planted a bean. The spheres being used this experiment including the biosphere (the plant is a living thing), the geosphere (minerals in the soil), the hydrosphere ( water for the plant) and the 

atmosphere (gases that can help the plant grow).

The solar system

Welcome and I am Mikhanya. I am going to share my solar system writing I did.(Fact: Did you know that the people in the olden days named mars after there god of war.)

I am describing our solar system

1.The earth is the only thing that has human on it- It helps you find a place to live.

2.The sun is 5,555 Degrees(Maybe more or less- The sun will burn you when you get close to it.

3.The solar system is the name of everything in space-The milky way has

everything!

I think that the moon helps you get oxygen-The moon looks like it has air.

The moon looks like a big giant bouncy ball that has a milky way colour. The solar system hears like a silent stone. I smell the juicy thin cheese that is from the moon. The moon feels like a big ball of giant sand. The moon tastes like cheese. I think aliens come from the moon in there secret lair. I do study about space at home but I have just started on Tuesday Morning. I say to my mum “Can I go to the solar system when I grow up” and she says “if you want to” I wonder if I could really go to the moon.

Matariki week

This week we have been working so hard to reach 3000 tickets and it is Matariki week. Matariki are a group of seven sisters. They called the group Matariki because the name of the group is the oldest star which is the biggest star you'll ever see! Today in miss goslin's homeroom class, we had to do PB4L Reflection. I found it hard because I did not understand what miss goslin was meaning. But I knew what to do.

    Hello and my name is Mikhanya. In math we had to do a problem solving Activity. I had to see if the questions were right or wrong. My Robot Map

In Math strand today we created maps. I made a Robot map. Our map had to include 5-8 features,a title and a compass. Then we asked our buddy to answer 5 questions about directions on our map. I found it hard because I did not understand the conversation miss goslin was talking about so I needed help and ask what I am supposed to do.

Geometry

In Geometry class we have been looking at directions on google maps. We learnt what a compass looks like and directions: North,East,South,West,NE,NW,SE,SW. I remember it by.... Never eat soggy weet-bix. I found it easy because the directions was really easy to understand!

Coordinates

In geometry we have been learning about coordinates. Coordinates are....Directions. We had to complete the following task.I learnt that....I had to figure out the directions of the symbols.
I found it easy because I started getting better & better until I had to finish the sheet.

Once upon a time there was a princess called "Princess goslin." She was also a teacher to south hornby school. Princess goslin lived in a banned tower because other people think that magic is not real but it is. Princess goslin's talent is an a inventor & singing! She is also good at juggling & playing soccer! But princess goslin had a problem. Her problem was.... well she wanted to explore the open and escape the tower! But her mother is a terrible woman and does not let her go! Then one day she sneaked down her glittery hair and was escaping. But then the wicked woman came into her room and said "Rise and shine my darling!" Then she noticed that she was gone! She solved the problem by escaping while her wicked mother was in the kitchen, Making her breakfast. She went to the king and queen and said "Are you my lost parents????" "Yes!!!!!" Said her parents. Then the wicked woman said "I will be back....Muahuauauauaua! The end.

Kindness.

Today we have been learning about what kindness means. We brainstormed all our ideas then we wrote a poem from our brainstorm. It was fun finding out about what other people thought. This is my poem.
